SIRI Certification Inspection Training HomeSafe began researching the usage of infrared for the federal government in the mid-1990s and in early 2001 filed patents for its use in the areas of home, air quality, energy and termite inspections. Six of HomeSafe's patents were approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in late 2008 and early 2009. Three more are currently under review by the USPTO.
Online Classroom Training (26 Hours) HomeSafe’s training course begins with 26 intensive hours of online classroom instruction. Online classes are held live at predetermined times on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, allowing you to register and attend with a minimal disruption of your work schedule. You can ask questions and interact with your instructor and fellow students. If the schedule doesn't suit your needs, you can register and listen to the recorded class sections at other times at your convenience. Upon completion of online training, you will automatically receive your certification in Thermography Level 1.
Field Training (16 Hours) Two days of hands-on field training - eight hours per day - at the end of the online instruction is required to complete the full course and receive your Specialist-Infrared Residential Inspector (SIRI) certificate. With IR camera in hand, you’ll learn real-world solutions, technical tips, tricks of the trade and problem-solving methodologies and strategies from HomeSafe’s expert trainers. Field training and certification is offered in select cities around the U.S. (Licensees will have up to 12 months to complete the full training and certification program.)
