Infrared Images - Termites

HomeSafe's infrared technology uncovers hidden termite and pest activity that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Here are just a few examples:

Termite pic 1
In the infrared image above, a termite infestation is seen in the dark, tube-like track descending vertically toward the bright, white spot (an acoustic probe).
Termite pic 2
Note the large, cotton-boll-shaped pattern that begins in the center of this photo and extends rightward. This is a large nest of Formosan termites, visible only through infrared and audible only through HomeSafe's acoustic sensors.
Termite pic 3
An ordinary view of a house's wall, as seen by the naked eye. No termite damage or activity is evident here. But now take a look at the wall through HomeSafe's IR camera in the picture below for a different viewpoint.
IR pic 4
In this infrared view of the same wall, the dark splotches and dark vertical lines indicate termite activity behind the wall itself. The infestation was confirmed acoustically and, later, visually during renovation of the house (see next picture).
Termite pic 5
After the wall pictured in the previous two pictures was torn out, the termite damage was plainly evident.
Termite pic 6
The white areas are actually mice tunnels surrounding a return air duct inside the walls of a child's playroom (upstairs). These tracks would go undetected in an ordinary visual inspection.
Termite pic 7
The dark area in the center of this picture resembles a termite infestation, but no termites were indicated in HomeSafe's follow-up acoustic inspection. Further investigation showed that the anomaly was due to poorly installed insulation.
